"Bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the uttermost parts of the earth..."Trinity was started for the purpose of reproducing itself through the planting of other churches. From its earliest beginnings Trinity has been involved in outreach, and in 1986 the church leaders established a goal of giving a minimum of 10 percent of the church's income to missions. In 2006, 17%, or $118,000 of Trinity's actual operational budget income went to local and world missions. In 1987 Trinity's first missions team was formed. Several of the first missionaries Trinity supported were church members. Trinity was instrumental in initiating a Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) chapter at Texas A&M University in 1987. Almost every year Trinity has supported or sent short-term missionaries. In the summer of 1992, as a result of the support-raising efforts of many of our members, eight youth and two adult sponsors went on a mission trip to Reynosa, Mexico. Another milestone for the church was the sending of Trinity members Rich and Martha Millhouse as missionaries to Romania in 1994. A team from TPC will go to Craiova, Romania this summer (2007) to help the church build their first church building. One of Trinity's most significant missionary outreaches has been the church planter training ministry of former pastor Steve Childers. Beginning in the late 1980s, Steve made several trips annually to teach seminary students and church leaders. This ministry expanded internationally in November of 1993 when Steve went to Japan to train Japanese pastors and missionaries to that nation. In the summer of 1997 and 1998, Trinity youth traveled to Jamaica to help in the efforts to build a new campus for the Caribbean Christian Center for the Deaf. They also ministered to orphans nearby by running a Vacation Bible School for the children after their construction work was done for the day. Trinity has also sent teams to Ciudad Carmen in Mexico, Guayaquil, Ecuador, an orphanage in Mexico and an Indian reservation in North Carolina. It is our intention to remain a partner in equipping church planters who will start church- planting movements in their own nations. At the same time, we will continue to teach and disciple those here at Trinity so that each is growing towards spiritual maturity, being equipped to serve our God and to extend His kingdom in our church, community, and world.
